I have several friends in my local scene that are primarily acoustic acts.  I really enjoy watching them play.  They write great songs, perform them well, and just put on a great show in general.  Any time one of them are playing a show I do my best to be there.  Often they will play together, so that works in my favor.

Over the last six to eight months, or so, I was convinced to try creating stripped down versions of my own material in order to play them on an acoustic guitar.  Well, I’ve managed to do just that.  Not only have I created some acoustic versions, I’ve also written some acoustic-only songs.  I even took it a step further and have performed those songs at local venues twice now.  All that is just to say that while I haven’t updated the site in a while, I have been busy writing.

So does this mean I’m taking the route of KPPX Rebel Radio from the hit movie Airheads?  Am I turning easy listening?  The answer is a resounding NO WAY!  However, I do intend to record and release some of these acoustic songs.  I do my best to keep them upbeat and reminiscent of the music you’re used to hearing from me, but the fact is that some of it may feel wildly different.

So look out for more of a mix of music from me.  I will be trying something new, but I also have a few electric tunes I’m working on.  And if more show opportunities show themselves in the future, who knows?  Maybe I’ll see you around.
